Over the last week you have taken the time to reflect on the past year, embrace who you are today, visualize a year from now, prioritize what is important in your life and begin living your best life.
Now, here’s the big question…… What is your mission?
Yes! A big question for an important life…..YOURS!
This is the year to be your own advocate. No more selling yourself short or waiting for another day to be your best self.
Take a few moments for yourself. Sit back, relax, reflect and discover your most authentic theme for the year.
Write down 5 of your core values. Core values are what make you unique in being “you” when engaging with your world. When you honor your deepest values, life is good and fulfilling. Allow yourself to do this freely, with acceptance of any and all values that arise. Here are a few ideas out of many possibilities: humor, directness, creativity, trust, free spirit, to be known, harmony, nurturing, community, leadership, and participation.
Next, write down 3-4 of your core strengths. These are the strengths that naturally energize you and lead to your best performance. If you have worked with me, look at your top 5 strengths that we discuss throughout coaching. Here are a few examples: fairness, diligence, hope/optimism, loyalty/teamwork, love of learning, critical thinking, gratitude, perspective, forgiveness, and bravery.
Write a paragraph answering the question, “What do I want in my life this year?” Mention your core values in this paragraph.
Then write a second paragraph answering the question, “How am I going to create what I want this year?” or “How am I going to make it happen this year?” Use your strengths in writing this paragraph.
Your strengths are the driving force by which you deliver your values! Living your life true to your values brings happiness, fulfillment and purpose.
There you have it, your 2012 Mission Statement……your roadmap to making your dreams your reality.
Enjoy YOURSELF this Year!!!
Your personal advocate,
Paige
